religion

Postby boneyboy0 on Tue Oct 31, 2006 3:02 pm

I have steered away from choosing a religion to believe in, although I do feel that we should have the choice of any and all religions

including some of the more obscure ones like cow worship for example

do you feel that your religion should be based on your age/sex/colour or are you pulled to one religion in particular because of a different point of view?

born to it

of course most of us were born to a certain religion, depending on what religion our elders belong to, it most probably will become your religion as well. Only when we get older would we get the chance to choose on our own. in my case i decided to stay with my parent's religion as i have learned to love and believe in it as well.

Agreed on what jukka7 said.
People believe in the religion their society has practiced and are mainly influenced by their families. When they get older or understand enough about what their religion really is, they have choices.

most of England is Christian, but I feel there are too many things that I have problems with to be a Christian, if I had to choose a religion I would have to go for Buddism

I find too many faults with christianity, being born where he was, jesus couldn't have been a white bloke, the bible has changed so much since the middle ages, various english monarchs have altered it to suit themselves. The teachings found in the bible are fairly sound, but some are just contradictory.

well, dont know what to say about it, as much as i would like to contradict you, i must admit you have your points. However, let me quote Dan Brown (angels and demons), the chamberlain says "the church is flawed because man is flawed". :o

there you go, religion was formed by man, not a god, a god would have made a much better job of it. as it is man has made a right mess of it. we can't even have more than 2 religions without getting into a fight over it

yeah, even criminals have more rights, which I think is a bit daft,

we have the right to choose a religion we like, but not to beat up a guy who is breaking into your house, very daft
