I had similar one before.
http://www.besta.com.tw/

But dunno where it is now. :P

The pronuciation is fine.
But sometimes it might be better to see how a real person pronounce it face to face.

And it can be better in translation or explanation ,I think.

But I dunno the part of learning Chinese.

i've heard "besta" is one of the "best" brands. :oo:

the pronunciation on some newer models is actually human voice, rather than computerized speech.

but i think that would be more of a problem for learning english, because there are so many different sounds and sound combos, not to mention strange sounding words. chinese though doesnt have very many different sounds. if you learn all the pinyin then its pretty easy to pronounce, you know? just different syllable combinations.

Yes,Besta is great.

the pronunciation on some newer models is actually human voice, rather than computerized speech.

yes,I love that,too.
But sometimes I just have no way to imitate the pronuciation without seeing how they pronuciate.

Last friday I talked with my teacher.
But I found my pronuciation is worse than ever.
south,north,south,north.....after repeating several times .
I dunno what I was saying then.

If I speak fast what I said was nonsense. :(

i guess its more difficult in english.

but if i say north, south, north, south many times fast, it will come out as nonsense too. its like a tongue twister. the important thing is whether or not you can pronounce them separately. being able to do a tongue twister is not being able to speak well. thats different.

anyway, speaking fast is not so important. as long as you can speak effectively. in fact, by speaking more slowly you may come off as a more soft, careful, and kind person.

by the way, during my electronic dictionary shopping, i saw some types that allow you to change the speed of the speech when translating full sentences. that sounds convenient.

i'm trying to buy one but the customer service that says it is "prompt and responsive" wont reply to my emails. i'll have to call them maybe.

I always think that is a bad CRM.(customer relationship management)
The service cant meet the customer's require.
How can they get more customers?

Like the credit card centre,
if you call the free service call, that always wants you to click many "extension number",And finally you did all,you always get an answer "All the servicemen are NOT available, please call later." It is hard to put it through, anyway.

That's tricky. :P
When you email them with yourown email ,they got your email address at same time.
The helps them to do the data mining and collection.
Smart lols.

If you haven't gotten one yet, you might consider getting a smartphone and getting software for it.
